Quick post

A friend of mine admitted to me that he watched bad movies to feel smarter than them (which is fine). He made an interesting point while talking to me about it. He said that he liked bad movies because he liked being in awe of their illogic. And I think that's something I do as well. There's something about movies that are just so insanely awful, they feel as if they were made by space aliens trying to approximate our culture or something. Thoughts, comments?

Some of the people I work with have "bad movie" days during lunch. Not sure if it is for professional reasons that they do this or if they just really enjoy making fun of terrible movies...

I've sat in on a couple, but they were so bad that I don't participate anymore. Seriously - those are precious hours I will never get back.

The thing is you can watch a movie like "Zombie 3" 15 times and still find bizarre details in almost every scene.

I don't know if it's still interesting the 16th time.

You realize that characters who have died come back only to be quickly killed again. You become more familiar with the inconsistency of the zombies - zombies so inconsistent they make you speculate that you're watching two movies thrown together for some reason. Which turns out to be the case with "Zombie 3".

In a movie as bad as "Zombie 3" or "The Heretic" or "The Howling 3" there are as many bad-interesting moments as there are good-interesting moments in a wonderfully constructed film.

This post is written like a really crappy last-minute class paper.

In closing I'd like to say: PLEASE PEEL THE SKIN FROM MY PRIVATES W/ YOUR TOENAILS!!

You know, I agree with that completely. I think the thing to note is that you're actually appreciating what the movie offers. Or finding something there. I suppose what I dislike is refusing to accept the movie's world. Boy I want Zombi 3 now. OK netflix, do your job.

There's always something to appreciate in a shitty movie, even if it's a life lesson about how not to make a shitty movie. And if you didn't want to see Zombie 3 enough already, just wait until you find out about the zombie birds.

I shit you not. At least, I think it's in that one. It might be in either Zombies 3, 4, or 5. You should play it safe and watch the whole series, even through there's no Zombie 1.
